I am doing MCA frm IGNOU. The above question has been asked by IGNOU in its CS01 (Computer Fundamentals) assignment. I looking for some good answers so that I can get atleat 20 marks in my CS01 module and pass the paper. Pipeline is a concept. It is available in SISD and even SIMD i.e arrry processor.
Both techniques are applied to improve the performance of the machne in terms of speedup and trhroughput.
The question of substituting pipeline with array processor is not justified. Beypnd 8086 microprocessor every machine has pipeline concept implemented in it , in terms of instruction pipeline, cpu pipeline etc. Array processor is a different classification altogether as per Flynn's classification having different hardware organization.
